Pumpkin Patch

A few months ago, I showed my mom a picture of an adorable little outfit, and I asked if she could help me make it for Izzy. Now, when I ask my mom to "help" me sew something, I'm basically asking if she will she sew it while I watch. But mom knows this, and she loves me anyway. She came through for me again, and look at how darling this is! I am in LOVE with this outfit! Izzy wore it to the pumpkin patch this weekend, and she got tons of compliments. Thanks, Mama!!!

Shiloh Restored

Our sweet and passionate friends, Niji and Lali, have organized a rescue mission in India to save and protect innocent baby girls from female infanticide. They've set up a non-profit organization, Shiloh Restored, with the goal to rescue, restore, and renew these sweet girls. We are so proud of the work they are doing, and we want to spread the word. Take a look at their website to learn more: http://www.shilohrestored.org/home.html

P.S. These are the same sweet friends who, without ever even meeting us, volunteered to come to the NICU and capture some incredible photos of Izzy during her first week of life, completely free of charge, after they heard our story through a mututal friend. Such a faithful and giving couple!

My DVR Runneth Over

I'm so happy that all my tv shows are back, but I must admit that I'm slightly embarrassed by my extensive DVR list. Before you judge, let me first say that I am fully aware that I have a serious problem. Like a moth to a flame, I am attracted to trashy tv, and I just can't help it. Without further ado, here's the list in no particular order:

1. Brothers and Sisters

2. Desperate Housewives

3. Modern Family

4. The Bachelor/Bachelorette

5. Dancing With the Stars (I fast forward quite a bit on this one, and don't even mess with the results show most of the time)

6. Last Comic Standing (Where did this show go?)

7. Hoarders (We aren't very good at keeping up with this one and Intervention, but they're good when we're bored.)

8. Intervention

9. Grey's Anatomy (So out of the loop on this show. I don't even know why Izzie left the show, but I caught the season-finale replay last week, and got sucked back in...hate it when that happens!)

10. Jersey Shore

11. Biggest Loser (having a fast forward option is cruicial for this show...I can't deal with 2-hour episodes!)

12. Project Runway

13. The Office

14. Community (stopped watching mid-season last year, but I'm giving it another shot)

15. Oprah (I'm kind of over her, but it's the last season, and I feel an obligation to watch, or at least sort through and watch the good ones)

16. Real Housewives (All of them. I do not discriminate against housewives.)

17. & 18. Teen Mom & Real World (I don't actually record these, however, I do watch them On Demand. Somehow, I think that makes it less embarrassing.)

A few that are not on the schedule, but are dangerously close to making the cut:

1. Keeping up with the Kardashians (No need to record this one because it's ALWAYS on E.)

2. The Rachel Zoe Project (She annoys me to no end, and I can't stand that she has major meltdowns over *gasp* clothes, but I do find myself repeating her little catch phrases...shut the front door, bananas, major, literally (pronounced litrally), etc...)

3. & 4. Mad Men & 30 Rock (I've never seen either of these, but my friend says they are a must)

What shows are worthy of your DVR?

Izzy Goes to the Dentist

We took Izzy to the dentist for the first time last week. She got a great report, but she definitely didn't love the experience. Here's a quick recap in pictures.

Happy and clueless of what's to come.

Concern starts to set in.

And then things got ugly. The end.

Business in the Front, Party in the Back

Kentucky Waterfall, Mississippi Mudflap, Missouri Compromise, Neckwarmer, Joe Dirt....whatever you want to call it, Izzy's got one...a mullet, that is.

I would also like to point out that our days with the ducky tub are numbered. This little girl is not so little anymore, and her baths are getting a bit cramped. Ugh...why do they have to grow up so fast??

Let the (CVS) Games Begin

I finally made it to CVS, and I am definitely hooked! I never shopped there before because, to be honest, their prices aren't great if you don't use coupons. But, if you know what you're doing with coupons and you use the Extra Care Bucks you earn, you can score some great deals. Last week, I made my first CVS purchase to start the ECB game (I know I told you about two other trips I had planned, but I never got around to those...what else is new?) Anywho, I wasn't too impressed with my initial purchase. Not bad, but I didn't walk away thinking I got a great deal.

I purchased all of this for around $40 (can't remember exactly), and walked away with around $12 ECBs for future purchases. (that's Maybelline eye shadow and lipstick up front)

Sidenote - why do I keep buying candy??? Seriously, somebody stop me! I keep thinking I'll just put it up for Halloween since it's on sale (I got the candy corn free, and the others were .77 cents each), but who am I kidding?? Candy does not last that long in my house.

THEN....this week, I got this for....drumroll, please................................

.................96 cents!!!

The Revlon lipstick was $6.99 alone! I also earned $12 ECBs for next week. I'm addicted, and clearly, very easily entertained.
