Gold Dipped Accent Table

I'm finally sharing the results of my little gold dipped table makeover.  This table was a $30 purchase from Walmart about 6 years ago.  It was originally bought to put next to the rocking chair in Izzy's nursery.  Cue the tears...  It still served as her nightstand up until a few months ago when we bought her a new one.  The size was perfect for the office, but with the black desk and black filing cabinet, the black table was too much.

I shared this picture not too long ago.  I sprayed the legs with gold spray paint.  Who doesn't love a little metallic gold?  I wasn't sure where I was going to stop the gold, so I sprayed a little more than I needed.

I originally painted the rest of the table French Linen by Annie Sloan.  I loved the way the color looked with the gold - a nice subtle contrast - but the french linen ended up being too close to the wall color in the office, and consequently, just kind of blended right in.

We had some leftover white paint from the bookshelves (Simple White by Sherwin Williams) so I decided to try that next.  It looks great against the gray walls, and I love the white against the gold.

And because I love a good before and after photo.  We actually really liked the gray chair in the office, but it's mate was lonely at the dining table, so we bought a new chair, also from World Market, for the office.  I'm digging this bright little corner.  It's a good place to sit and stare at Griff while he works.  Because that's not creepy at all.

The table is not perfect.  Seriously, don't look too closely at my paint job.  But, for the cost of a can of spray paint, it will certainly get the job done.
